Series 0361
Open-Bottom Receptacle
Open-bottom shell soldered into a plated through-hole in the PCB. The mating pin can pass through the board, which suits long or variable lead lengths.
New from Mill-Max
Maximum Current. Maximum Flexibility.
Our largest 6-finger contact ever: 42 A per contact and a .100" to .130" mating range, in five termination styles. Use them as individual pin receptacles on the PCB or wire, or let Mill-Max build them into a custom connector for you.
These are more than higher-amperage receptacles. Place one or many wherever your design needs power, mate them with pins anywhere from .100" to .130" in diameter, and terminate them to a PCB or a wire. When you need a complete connector, we mold or machine the insulator, set the spacing and pattern, and add the hardware.
Why designers choose it
Most power connectors lock you into one housing, one pin size and one termination. These receptacles work the other way around: they adapt to your pins, your layout and your design.
42 A
Every receptacle is rated 42 A at a 30°C temperature rise, with a 20 percent derated rating of 33.6 A for design planning. The high-force, 6-finger beryllium copper contact minimizes constriction resistance and heat.
.030"
One receptacle accepts mating pins from .100" to .130" (2,54mm to 3,30mm). Use it when lead size is set by the application, when pins vary across a product line, or when tolerances are wide.
1 or many
Each receptacle is a stand-alone contact, not a position in a fixed housing. Use one or many, in any pattern and at any spacing your layout calls for, on boards, in panels or in cable assemblies.
5 + custom
Open-bottom, closed-bottom and solder-tail versions for the board, plus crimp and solder-cup versions for wire. We can also supply receptacles pre-crimped to wire, and custom shells, materials and plating thicknesses.

Custom connectors
Because every receptacle is a precision-machined part with a press-fit feature, Mill-Max can assemble them into a complete custom connector in house. Tell us what the connector has to do and we will design it with you.
Injection-molded insulators for production volumes, or insulators machined in house from FR-4 or G-30 polyimide (for extremely high temp applications) with no tooling charge and no minimum order. 3D-printed housings also available to help check form and fit at early design stages.
Machined insulators, using in-house milling with tight positional tolerances, lets us match virtually any footprint or contact spacing, so the connector fits your design rather than the other way around.
Mix and match different receptacle sizes in the same insulator: these high-current receptacles for power alongside smaller receptacles for signal, plus alignment pins where you need them.
Add threaded inserts in the same assembly for secure fastening to printed circuit boards, housings or bulk heads.
Receptacles supplied crimped to wire and ready to install, so your team skips the crimping step.
Prove the design in machined FR-4, then move to a molded insulator when volumes climb. Our engineers recommend the right route for your quantity and timeline.
Features and benefits
The new beryllium copper contact uses high force and multiple contact points to minimize constriction resistance and heat generation. The result is efficient high-current operation with reliable electrical and mechanical performance under shock and vibration.
Our largest 6-finger contact ever, precision stamped from beryllium copper, heat treated and gold plated, then pressed into a precision-machined shell.
Low-level contact resistance averages 0.5 milliohms. Less heat at the point of contact means efficient energy transfer, stable voltage delivery and less risk of fretting corrosion and micro-arcing.
High normal force compresses surface imperfections and breaks through films on the mating pin, minimizing constriction resistance and helping prevent the heat-and-relaxation cycle that leads to thermal runaway.
No electrical discontinuity over 1 µs at 50 g shock or 10 to 2,000 Hz, 20 G vibration, so power stays connected on mobile equipment, in industrial settings and in transportation.
Gold plating on the contact provides conductivity, durability and environmental protection.
Built for docking, service and test applications where connections are made and broken repeatedly.
The contact is pressed into a precision-machined shell. Force and derating curves show typical values; request samples to evaluate in your application.
Termination flexibility
Open-bottom, closed-bottom and solder-tail through-hole versions for the board, plus crimp and solder-cup versions for wire. Every style shares the same 42 A, 6-finger contact and the same .100" to .130" mating range, so you can mix board-mounted and wire-terminated receptacles in one design.
Series 0361
Open-bottom shell soldered into a plated through-hole in the PCB. The mating pin can pass through the board, which suits long or variable lead lengths.
Series 0386
Closed-bottom shell keeps solder and flux out of the contact area during PCB assembly.
Series 0460
A .080" (2,03mm) diameter solder tail mounts through-hole in the PCB, providing a secure solder joint while preserving critical board space.
Series 0736
Crimp barrel for 10 to 12 AWG wire, for fast, repeatable harness and cable assembly.
Series 0765
Solder cup accepts wire up to 10 AWG, for hand-soldered power leads and low-volume cable builds.
Specifications
Every receptacle uses the same 6-finger contact, so these ratings apply across the family.

FAQ
They combine a 42 A per-contact rating with a .100" to .130" mating range and five termination styles, and each receptacle is a stand-alone contact. You choose the pin size, position count, layout and termination instead of designing around a fixed connector, and Mill-Max can build them into a custom connector when you need one.
Yes. We can mold the insulator or machine it from FR-4, set the spacing and pattern, mix different receptacle sizes for power and signal in one connector, and add threaded inserts. Receptacles can also be supplied pre-crimped to wire.
Each receptacle is rated for 42 amps at a 30°C temperature rise. At that maximum rating, operating temperature is specified up to 120°C. A 20 percent derated rating of 33.6 amps is also provided for design planning.
They accept mating pins from .100" to .130" (2,54mm to 3,30mm) in diameter, a .030" range. That gives designers flexibility when mating-lead size is application-driven or subject to wide tolerances.
Yes. Each pin receptacle is an individual interconnect rather than a position inside a fixed connector housing. Mount it on a PCB or terminate it to wire. You place as many as the design needs, in the pattern and at the spacing your layout calls for.
Five styles. Three mount on the PCB: open-bottom through-hole (0361), closed-bottom through-hole (0386) and solder-tail through-hole (0460). Two terminate to wire: crimp for 10 to 12 AWG (0736) and solder cup up to 10 AWG (0765).
They are rated for a minimum of 1,000 mating cycles. Mating pin size, shape and finish, along with other application variables, affect contact life.
Yes. Custom shell configurations, materials and plating thicknesses are available. Contact Mill-Max Technical Services to discuss your design requirements.
